Mission Red

We're on a mission to end period poverty

About us

Mission Red is a grassroots organization dedicated to elevating the menstrual equity movement through education, advocacy, and aid. Our goal is to ensure all menstruators in the DC and Virginia area can deal with their periods with dignity by accessing affordable and safe period products.

Mission Red was founded by two high school students in Northern Virginia who saw a need to address period poverty in their schools and greater communities.

What we do

Education

We are raising awareness about period poverty and its effects to combat the stigma around menstruation. We are committed to amplifying various issues in the menstrual justice space such as inclusivity, intersectionality, and sustainability.

Advocacy

By fighting to pass legislation that promotes menstrual justice in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, we can make systemic change to improve the lives of menstruators in our communities.

Aid

Through hosting product drives and packing parties, Mission Red has an immediate impact in our community. We have partnered with schools and organizations in Northern Virginia to donate more than 20,000 products to community partners.
